DIG and SANABEL Help Train Microfinance Industry in Iraq
With funding from USAID through the Izdihar Program, DIG, in partnership
with SANABEL, offers a comprehensive training of trainers (TOT) program
focusing on both CGAP and non-CGAP courses, and providing real-life
training opportunities for microfinance practitioners from Iraq.   DIG and
Sanabel offer training in Microfinance Training of Trainers, Financial
Analysis, Delinquency, Human Resources management, Operational Risk
Management, Microfinance Market Assessment, Product Development,
Business Planning with Microfin, Loan Assessment, Accounting,
Information Systems and Strategic Marketing.
Staff trained come from leading microfinance providers in Iraq, including
CHF International and ACDI/VOCA.  Successful graduates of this program
will be SANABEL/CGAP certified, and will provide training to Microfinance
Practitioners operating in Iraq through the Private Bankers Institute (PBI).  
Training venues include Amman, Jordan; Beirut, Lebanon; and Cairo, Egypt
from June 2006 through May 2007.
